Our basic COSMETOLOGY PROGRAM features design, cutting, coloring, multicultural techniques, makeup, fashion trends, and the art of hairdressing in a three-phase program we call BASICS, TRANSITIOINAL, and INNOVATIVE.

BASICS – Discover the rules! In this introductory course, you'll learn the basics that will let you confidently begin working on guests, and your Learning Leaders will help you blend professional skills with personal development.

TRANSITIONAL – Apply the rules! Building on the skills you learned in BASICS, this intermediate level teaches the value of time management, retailing, and the art of successful communication.

INNOVATIVE – Rewrite the rules! This final phase takes you through advanced hairdressing and chemical work. During your last months and weeks toward graduation, you'll spend your time in high gear, preparing yourself for your future salon career.

Blades On Broadway Hair Institute is designed to prepare a licensed cosmetologist in instructing all phases of the basic cosmetology curriculum.  Blades On Broadway Hair Institute demonstrates practical clinical procedures by first assisting a licensed instructor in the classroom and then completing 130 hours of practice teaching in a classroom. The student is taught employability skills and given a review of the cosmetology curriculum. Finally the student is prepared for the state licensing exam for cosmetology instructors.

Applicants must have an active cosmetology license to enter this training program. Graduates from this program must pass the state practical and written exam prior to being issued a cosmetology instructor license.

Cosmetology instructors find employment in schools where they teach cosmetology, nail technology and esthetics. Job openings occur in proprietary, vocational and technical schools, and may be either full or part time. Earnings increase with experience and vary from one region of the country to another.

Cosmetology instructors stand for most of their working hours and work with their hands giving practical demonstrations. They are exposed to chemicals in hair dyes and permanent wave solutions, nail technology products, and facial products. Lesson planning, grading and counseling students are part of their job description. They should be able to communicate well and should get along with people.

Our Skin Program objective is to teach a complete program to students to better serve them in the beauty industry after graduation.  Students develop the skills necessary to become an expert in their chosen area of specialization in the State of Washington, and to meet the needs of the cosmetology community in which they will enter.  

Our SKIN CARE PROGRAM offers an indepth curriculum for a complete knowledge and understanding of all areas of all leading edge techniques, such as analysis, retailing, waxing, makeup, and treatments.

The BLADES ON BROADWAY HAIR INSTITUTE is a fully equipped high end training facility. Students will have breakthrough knowledge of skin care, hair removal, body treatments and all its elements. This curriculum also includes training in the latest treatments such as spa therapies, hydrotherapy, and paramedical facial treatments such as microdermabrasion, ultrasonic facials, and oxygen therapy facials.

The knowledge and skills gained at B.O.B. will prepare individuals for work in the Cosmetology business. Our graduates are highly trained in technical applications, business skills and professional image. Strong emphasis will be placed on retailing, customer service, personal, and professional advancement. 

Our NAIL PROGRAM was one of the first in the area for the training of Nail Technology. We train students using state-of-the-art name brand products. Students experience the latest in nail and skin care technology available on the market. 

Our instructors are certified to teach in the state of Washington and are flexible in helping work around your schedule. We make a sustained effort to meet individual needs.

Students acquire training in both the theory and practical studies of nail care and esthetics. This will prepare them to take the State Board Exam. (Each state will charge an exam fee, not included in course fees.)

Upon completetion you will be prepared to take the Washington State Department of Licensing Cosmetology Examination.
